At Woodwind Medic, we specialize in re-using, re-purposing and re-homing woodwind instruments. Sometimes the instruments have been neglected, left behind when people no longer have the time or interest to learn to practice and play. Sometimes the instruments have created their last swan song of sound and no longer warrant the wind required to make them function. Occasionally an instrument has been kept in storage past the the players who have passed while families house the grief of a loss in the spare room or basement.
Keys get polished. Pads are replaced. Parts exchanged. However we determine to recreate with a used instrument, it is meant to honor the hands that crafted the original — to be an instrument of preservation. We are the agents of sound healing.
